With Palestine at the forefront of our hearts and mind,
MAC Convention 2024 will challenge you to think critically about some of the most important issues of our time; you will be inspired to imagine and create in ways that change the realities around you; and you will take back tools that will transform various spheres of your life, insha'Allah.
This is a conference unlike any other. This is a program where we as a Muslim Canadian community will gather to deconstruct, reinvigorate, reactivate, and redefine where we are going to drive the narrative of Islam and Muslims in Canada and across our ummah, in the coming phase, insha'Allah.
The convention's main program will provide invigorating sessions and dynamic conversations around strength, justice, action and hope on the journey to stand firm in the path of truth.
The MAC Convention 2024 theme is centered around the verse:
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تَنصُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ يَنصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْ
O believers! If you stand up for (the cause of) Allah, He will help you and make your steps firm.

The convention program aims to delve deeper into the theme - collectively as Canadian Muslims through all spheres of life, by looking at 3 distinct dimensions:
Firmness of Faith
How to develop, internalize and embody a God-centered worldview that will lead to building strength & resilience, to be able to stand firm for the cause of Allah SWT.
The Path of Truth
The deep understanding and certainty that Allah SWT has provided us with a complete concept of life based on certain principles and values, and that Islam presents a complete solution to humanity in all facets of life.
Standing Firm
Committing to Individual and Collective Urgency, Responsibility & Action:
a sense of urgency and responsibility of applying Islam fully and taking action in our individual lives, our communities, and the ummah.
Learn about some of the most pressing issues facing Muslim in Canada today, and gain inspiration from powerful speeches aimed at encouraging you to live Islam fully in all areas of your life.
MAC Convention provides an experience for the entire family, with many options and means of engaging, learning, and discussing how to live Islam everyday.
Parallel Sessions
Throughout each day, MAC Convention offers you the opportunity to choose from a variety of parallel sessions with scholars, activists, academics, and community leaders in a smaller setting that enables a deeper dive into critical topics and issues related to Muslims and the narrative of Islam in Canada. There is something for everyone! Parallel session stream topics will include:
- Understanding Islam through an Islamic worldview
- Islamic paradigms around parenting and family issues; youth challenges & opportunities; and mental well-being
- Community-building, dawah and advocacy in society
- Issues impacting our global and collective ummah, and justice topics
- Scholarly reflections, some of which are Arabic & French language sessions
Children’s Program
Our tarbiyah-focussed children’s program welcomes children aged 1-12 years old into a rich and engaging environment. This program focuses on bringing the convention theme and teachings for our littlest attendees so that every member of your family will benefit from the convention, inshaAllah. Our children’s program is specially designed and delivered by educators, community leaders, ECE’s and includes:
- Daily adhkar and Islamic teachings
- Live shows and performances
- Hands-on activities and learning opportunities
- Lunch
- A combination of art, science, and literacy infused into fun sessions
- Special guest talks appropriate for every age
Special needs supports are available for the children’s programming, however we require that you identify this in the registration form so appropriate supports can be planned for your child.
Youth Program
MAC Convention has a strong vision for establishing the future of Islam in Canada and this means we are heavily invested in the youth program! The youth program is created for youth 13-17 years old. Designed by youth, community leaders, activists and educators for youth! This program combines a lively, engaging, and rich learning experience. The youth program brings:
- Important topics related to sound faith; identity; mental well-being; youth leadership & activism; what it means to stand with the Ummah
- Inspiring talks from internationally respected leaders
- Live performances
- Virtual reality competition
- Theatrical performances
- Hands-on learning
MSA-focused sessions
MAC Convention provides unique sessions that bring topics that are relevant to campus life. These sessions bring conversations on what it means to live Islam fully through one’s academic journey. MSA sessions offer:
- Live teach-ins
- Practical tools for dawah on campus
- Workshops on building and running an effective MSA on campus
- Activism & Advocacy
- Opportunities to network with MSA reps from cities across Canada
Learning Communities
MAC Convention learning communities bring one-day workshops that are geared towards Muslim professionals looking for how to sharpen their skills and bring the lens of Islam into their practise. These sessions offer:
- Workshops led by a professional development team
- Opportunities for networking
- Access to resources

Live Performances
MAC Convention brings the Islamic traditions of art, expression, theater, and performance through creativity onto the mainstage, the expo and the youth program! Join us for upliftment and spiritual journeys brought throughout the program:
- Nasheed performances

Aqsa Exhibit
An exhibit for all attendees to participate in Take some time to explore this unique exhibit which offers an interactive showcase of the importance of Al-Aqsa for our Ummah. Learn about the history of Al-Aqsa, its significance for Muslims, and learn about its architecture as well!
New Muslims Programming
MAC Convention offers programming choices for “new” and “old” reverts within the community. Programs offer topics related to navigating one’s journey in Islam along with opportunities to network and meet other reverts and a session that offers a discussion circle that is developed and run by revert Muslims.
Expo
MAC Convention features a unique expo experience for all attendees! The bazaar area showcases a wide variety of businesses, and organizations from the community and we encourage you to support our local businesses and unique initiatives!
Carnival
MAC Convention aims to be a memorable, fun, Islamic environment for our children! Be sure to check out the carnival zone in the expo area which will feature rides, games, competitions, face painting, and much more!
Accessible Format
MAC Convention takes place in a wheelchair accessible venue MAC Convention sessions provide live ASL translation for all those requiring ASL translation Special needs supports are available for the children’s programming, however we require that you identify this in the registration form so appropriate supports can be planned for your child.
