Delve deep into relevant Islamic topics

01. Main Stage Program

Our Main Stage programs happen in the evening at the end of the all other parallel programming. While less specialized, it's important to address issues that face the entire community as a whole and how to address them.

Our 2025 Main Stage programs will explore Islam’s framework for life, fostering resilience, clarity, and purpose. Attendees will engage with scholars, address challenges facing Muslims, and discover ways to create meaningful change.

02. Parallel Streams

The convention program will bring to life the different dimensions of the theme, through 4 streams, 2 special streams and 2 learning communities and a special New Muslims’ segment. Each stream will focus on the specific application of the theme to the stream.

    Stream 1

    Individual: Understanding Islam

    The Islamic worldview constitutes the framework within which human life develops and progresses. The Quran provides the details of this framework that results in guidance (hidayah) and firmness of faith, that not only distinguishes a believer but also leads to steadfastness in times of hardship. This stream will provide deep conversation on how to internalize and embody a God-centered worldview, build clarity of thought that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, develop steadfastness & resilience, and be anchored in faith through the most difficult challenges.

    Stream 2

    Family

    Islam is a blessing and solution to both individual and societal problems. Within the Islamic framework, the family is the primary social and foundational unit of society. This stream will focus on Islamic paradigm around parenting and family issues, youth challenges, women’s issues, and mental well-being as related to the theme. This will include how to build a Muslim family that is anchored in faith, able to overcome current challenges, and takes action towards positive change in the way of Allah SWT.

    Stream 2

    Community Building & Activism

    Allah SWT created humanity to fulfil a certain purpose on Earth. He puts communities through challenges to test them and allow them to rise to the level to accomplish what God intended for them. These challenges are when faith is translated to action. The stream will discuss the individual and collective responsibilities, provide strategies, and address challenges around community building, activism, and upholding Islam in all spaces.

    Stream 2

    Ummah

    Islam provides a very unique concept of Ummah and a Muslim’s relationship and responsibility towards the Ummah. The Quran also outlines principles of loss and victory and reminds us to learn from our rich history, remain steadfast in our current realities, and work towards a better future; with a deep belief (yaqeen) that Allah SWT will grant victory and success to those who are steadfast. This stream will include a deeper look into the challenges that the ummah is facing, our collective responsibility towards action, and the Islamic framework in promoting justice, compassion, human dignity, and reform.

    Arabic & French

    Scholars’ Reflections

    Reflections and insights of scholars on topics related to the theme of Turning the Tides. Presented in either Arabic or French.

    Ages 13 to 17

    Youth

    MAC Convention has a strong vision for establishing the future of Islam in Canada and this means we are heavily invested in the youth program! The youth program is created for youth 13-17 years old. Designed by youth, community leaders, activists and educators for youth! This program combines a lively, engaging, and rich learning experience. Invigorating sessions related to youth issues, the role of youth, justice, leadership, and developing faith-based resilience as related to the theme. The youth program brings:
