Nimao Ali

Ms. Nimao Ali is an educator with over 20 years of teaching experience and served 7 years as principal at MAC’s Abraar Secondary School. She holds a degree in Computer Mathematics from Carleton University, as well as teaching and leadership certifications from Algonquin College and York University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity (MDiv) in Islamic Chaplaincy at The Islamic Seminary of America (TISA). Ms. Ali is social justice activist, co-founder of Justice for Abdirahman and the Canadian Muslim Public Affairs Council (CMPAC), she has also served on various boards focused on education, equity, and community development. Ms. Ali has contributed to community and education projects across Canada and East Africa, and has served as the Muslim Chaplain at Carleton University and currently at York University. She is also currently working with MAC-Masjid Toronto, supporting university MSAs and leading women’s halaqas.
